Gingivectomy
A gingivectomy is a common procedure used to treat advanced gum disease called periodontitis. During this procedure, loose and diseased gum tissue is removed to eliminate periodontal pockets. A gingivectomy makes it easier to keep your teeth and gums clean, to prevent pockets from reforming, and to keep food debris and bacteria from accumulating.
